Statement of Values
We value the Church
Christ is incarnate in the Church, and so we submit ourselves to her
authority. Individually we submit to those in the leadership of our local
congregation, and corporately our leaders include respected members of the
Church community.
We value mutual submission
Each person in Christ is equal before God. Servant leadership recognizes the
value of diversity, including ministry, gift, ethnicity, and organizational
structure.
We value participation
The Church is God's instrument of reconciliation in the world, and each
member is equally responsible to be in ministry.
We value unity
Unity is achieved through corporate worship and prayer, mutual submission,
earnest dialogue, and cooperative service, yet without compromising Truth.
We value stewardship
All resources, whether time, gifts, or money, belong to God, and are
therefore priceless. We seek maximum impact, efficiency, and quality according
to Godly standards of excellence.
We value prayer
Every plan and task must be submitted to God, and every result must be
entrusted to Providence.
We value knowledge
Knowledge of a community, its systems, its history, its leaders, its
resources, and its patterns of oppression is indispensable for the Church to
have an impact on its community. Such knowledge must be taught to and sought by
its member
We value evangelism, discipleship, and service
The ministries of reconciliation and good works are complementary,
encompassing all works of love and mutual submission necessary to strengthen the
Body and carry God's appeal to lost humanity for a restored relationship through
Jesus Christ.
